Privacy Policy

Namib Rage ("we", "us") operates the Namib Rage mobile application. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

Information We Collect

  • ·Location data — when you use the friend-finder feature, we collect your device's approximate location to show your position on the festival map and share it with friends in your session.
  • ·Display name — a name you choose when joining a friend session. This is temporary and tied only to the session room code.
  • ·Push notification token — generated by your device to deliver event announcements and alerts. We do not use this to identify you.
  • ·Device information — operating system and app version, used solely for diagnosing crashes and bugs.

How We Use Your Information

  • ·Location is used only in real time to power the live friend map. It is not stored after your session ends.
  • ·Display names and session data are deleted when all participants leave a room.
  • ·Push tokens are used only to send you relevant Namib Rage event updates and notifications.
  • ·Crash and diagnostic data is used internally to improve app stability.

Sharing Your Information

  • ·We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party.
  • ·Location data within a friend session is shared only with people in the same room code — no one else can see it.
  • ·We use crash reporting services (Sentry) to log anonymous error data. No personally identifiable information is included in these reports.

Data Retention

  • ·Friend session data (display name and location) is deleted in real time when a session ends.
  • ·Push notification tokens are retained while you have the app installed. You can revoke them at any time in your device's notification settings.
  • ·We do not maintain user accounts or long-term profiles.

Your Rights

  • ·You can revoke location permissions at any time in your device settings — the app will continue to work, but the friend map feature will be unavailable.
  • ·You can disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
  • ·To request deletion of any data we may hold, email us at hello@namibrage.com.

Children's Privacy

  • ·The Namib Rage app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

  • ·We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
